Accommodation at Suomu Resort

You can choose between a modern standard hotel, sports hotel, log cabin, holiday apartment or a caravan for your vacation spot. Majority of accommodation establishments are close to the slopes and cross-country ski trails wind through the area reaching most people at the front steps. All hotel visitors can walk both to the trail network and to the slopes. Suomu cabin village is continuously growing, thus you can choose between many types of cabins. It is for you to decide between luxurious hotel rooms, cabins near the slopes, hotel rooms with access to a gym or holiday homes by the snowmobile tracks.

Only you can decide which the top priorities are for you.

You choose from the following list: distance to the ski lifts & slopes, the tranquil setting of your accommodation, a great view from your private deck, freedom to cook your parties favourite meals, possibilities for a roll in the snow from your private sauna, how about a daily hot tub after a gruelling day outdoors.  Some consider en extra wide double bed to be important, a dishwasher, or a clothes-drying cupboard.  These are handy for snowy clothes especially for families with small children.  A Finnish type electric plug for your car or price of the accommodation could also be important factors.


Early reservations are recommended if your holiday times are set.

Visitors arriving by plane or train are happier closer to the centre with services within walking distance, while the usage of a private car will make a more economical accommodation a bit further from the centre a feasible possibility.  If you arrive by plane and decide to rent a car, then you do have a better choice for accommodation, but do remember the electric plug for the car heater. For our permanent guests with cars this is one of the basic requirements.

If Suomu is full or you prefer to stay away from the resort, accommodation is also available in Räisälä village (5,5km), along highway 5 (8km) or in the centre of Kemijärvi town (42km).
