Winter in Suomu
Suomu resort on the Arctic Circle is a great place to enjoy winters with snow and ice. You can sample the northern way of life with reindeer herding either as a culinary delicacy or as an afternoon outing. You can enjoy the continental dry climate with just enough precipitation to give us plenty of snow to play in, but also clear skies with northern lights and stars in the dark days of midwinter and plenty of sunshine during the long light days of the spring skiing.
Summer season in Suomu
Suomu Kemijärvi summers are always an endless day with no darkness between May and August. Your midwinter midday sky becomes your midnight sky in the summer. On clear summer nights that sky will turn to briliant sunset colors and daylight continues for several months. The arctic summer light should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Some people become dependent on it and one does miss it, when living further south, if you grow up in it.
Temperatures vary from hot or warm to cool during the summer, but the green pine forests and the large open waters of Kemijärvi lake are there for us to enjoy in all weathers.
