Cycling

By bike, you can enjoy the Suomu resort views, both at lake Kemijärvi or on the various hills in the area. The hotels in the area stock sticks for Nordic Walking and bicycles suitable for the local forest roads. At the Arctic Circle hotel, the cycles with helmets or the sticks are included in the price. The local trail network makes it easy to explore by bike in the summer.

There is the quiet paved village road to Räisälä shop and ferry 5km away. The ferry runs 6m to 10pm during the summer months, from ice break up to freezing.

At the Räisälä village beach, next to the ferry, there is a public swimming area and picnic shelter. About one kilometre further towards Kemijärvi after the ferry, there are some larger sandy wilderness beaches along the road.

The area has many gravel and logging roads suitable for biking and exploring the area. These are marked in the Kemijärvi area Outdoor map available from bookshops in the area and specialized map shops throughout Finland. Kemijärvi Service Office, Sortteeri also sells this map.
