SUOMUTUNTURI IS ONE OF THE MOST SNOW-RICH AREAS IN FINLAND.
As much as a tenth of the 400 square kilometres of south-eastern Lapland are lakes or rivers. The geographical characteristics of the region create excellent conditions for heavy snowfalls.
That is why Suomutunturi is one of the areas with the highest snowfall in Finland. Thanks to favourable natural forces and the latest snowmaking and snow removal techniques, the Suomu ski season can start as early as the beginning of November.
SLOPES
Thanks to its steepness and the 255-metre difference in altitude, the slopes of Suomutunturi meet the International Ski Federation's requirements for a big slope race.
The early start to the ski season and the excellent slope profile also attract international ski teams preparing for the World and European Cups to Finland.

ACCOMMODATION
The renovated Suomutunturi hotel offers a unique view directly onto the slopes, where children can safely enjoy the winter. Accommodation options range from 35 square metre De Luxe rooms to 70 square metre suites. Alternatively, you can stay in a chalet holiday home, which can accommodate up to eight people at best.

SUOMU ALPINE PERFORMANCE
Modern group training facilities, a gym, swimming pool and spa ensure effective training and complete recovery. We also offer testing facilities for equipment manufacturers, sports medicine services and an incubator. Suomutunturi supports young alpine sports enthusiasts every year.

Suomutunturi offers a wide range of activities all year round. The area's unique nature and waterways offer recreation from fishing to canoeing. Hiking and nature-oriented accommodation are an important part of the Suomu experience.
SAFARI SERVICES
At Suomutunturi we organise snow safaris, where you can experience the wilderness in a variety of ways. You can choose from poles, skis, ice fishing, snowshoes, reindeer or snowmobile. Our trip takes you through snowy forests and fells to admire the stars and northern lights.
CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS
Suomutunturi has a total of 75 km of ski trails, 17 km of which are illuminated. The maintenance of the trails is the responsibility of the City of Kemijärvi.

WELLNESS
After an active day at the ski resort, you can pamper yourself with Wellness services, enjoy the gentle suds of the sauna and the atmosphere of the long swimming pool, and book a massage to restore your muscles for the next day and a happy life on the slopes.

Our spacious gym offers a stunning view of the slopes. Italian Pininfarina-designed gym equipment offers a wide range of aerobic and strength training. Our fitness instructors will help you find the right range of motion and performance techniques.
